I first came across the designer Nick Munro when my parents received this lovely Pink Mercury Glass Fruit Bowl as a wedding anniversary present a few years ago. I liked his individual style and innovative use of finishes.
Nick, it turns out, is a Chester resident and designs ceramics, furniture, glass and stainless steel and has created collections for John Lewis, Bugatti and The V&A Museum. In December I happened upon his small showroom/shop whilst wandering down a small street in Chester City Centre.
His shop had a great range of his work on display and is a great place to go to find a special wedding or anniversary present that you won’t find anywhere else. They also have special events where you can meet Nick and the other designers and preview his new ranges.
I particularly like Nick’s new Lifeboat inspired range of products, with 25% of proceeds going to the RNLI.
You can check out Nicks monthly design advice column in House Beautiful Magazine in the UK. He also blogs here on his own website.
You can find the Nick Munro shop on Commonhall Street in Chester, Cheshire.
